Professional Highlights:
I completed a B.S. in Psychology in 2022 and an M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2024, both from Utah Valley University. I currently have an Associate license in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and I expect to receive full licensure by 2026. I am supervised by Dr. Marty Erickson, PhD, LMFT.
Specialties:
I specialize in working with individual adults (age 16+), and I am so far developing specializations in working with: Mormon faith crises/transitions/expansions, LGBTQ+ affirmative therapy, anxiety, depression, women’s empowerment, grief and bereavement, as well as life transitions and overall adult growth and development. As a counselor, I take a collaborative approach in my work and emphasize your expertise on your own life and experience, while offering support and a safe space for you. Incorporated into all my work with those who consult me is a Person-Centered Approach, as the therapeutic alliance we develop is a transformative part of the work in counseling, and one of my strengths as a therapist is creating a compassionate environment. It is my belief that counseling is for everyone and that it is my job as a counselor to adjust my approach to each person’s unique and individual needs. The main therapeutic approaches that I utilize include Person-Centered Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and an attachment-based framework. I have found that elements of each of these are congruent with my beliefs about the importance of our environments and identifying patterns in your own story that will empower you with the knowledge and understanding to make the changes you would like to see in your own life.
