Specialties

My greatest strengths as a therapist are my warmth, empathy, and commitment to creating a safe, non-judgmental space for people to explore their deepest concerns. As a mixed-race individual in a mixed-race relationship, I deeply understand the importance of diversity and inclusion. Growing up in McAllen, TX, a diverse border town, I experienced firsthand the challenges and rewards of navigating a multicultural environment. These experiences fuel my passion for providing culturally sensitive care to individuals, couples, and families from diverse backgrounds.

I am developing areas of specialty in: communication difficulties, sexual intimacy concerns and desire discrepancy, faith/spiritual crises transition and expansions, identity development, and working with issues and concerns related to multiracial and minoritized persons, couples, families, communities. I am also experienced in working with anxiety, depression, perfectionism, life transitions, self-worth and self-esteem, self-efficacy, sexual identity development, and LGBTQ+ affirmative therapy.

In my work with couples, I specialize in helping partners strengthen their emotional connection, improve communication, and address sexual discrepancies or mismatched libido. Utilizing Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method, I guide couples in developing new communication skills, de-escalating conflicts, healing underlying wounds, and rekindling the spark in their relationships.

With individuals, I use Narrative Therapy, DBT, and IFS to empower people to reauthor their stories, develop emotional regulation and interpersonal skills, and foster self-compassion and inner harmony. I tailor my approach to each person’s unique needs and hopes, drawing on the models that resonate most with their presenting problems and their goals, ensuring a personalized and effective therapeutic experience.

As an affirmative therapist committed to social justice and inclusivity, my goal is to empower clients with the tools and insights needed to lead fulfilling lives and cultivate healthier relationships. If you’re ready to embark on a journey of transformation, healing, and personal growth, I am here to support you every step of the way.

Christina starts in early June, scheduling is open with multiple immediate openings in-person in Orem, and multiple immediate openings for teletherapy for anyone in Utah
