Specialties
As a queer person, I am dedicated to providing affirming support for LGBTQIA+ people. I work with queer, trans, and gender-diverse clients on all aspects of sexual and gender identities.
I enjoy working with clients on issues of body image and complex relationships with food and exercise from a weight-neutral and Health At Every Size Perspective. I also work with clients on issues of anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidality, faith transition, grief, sex and relationship issues, and healing from trauma and abuse.
I draw from several therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy and other attachment-based approaches, and somatic approaches that promote a more attuned relationship between body and mind. My practice is informed by Feminist Multicultural Theory, Critical Race Theory, and Queer Theory. I consider it an important aspect of therapeutic work to examine how our environments have shaped us, and where there is opportunity to empower ourselves and others.
My goal is to offer a supported place for discovery and growth, and to bring ideas and skills that help you move toward your goals with greater understanding and self compassion.
