Professional Highlights:
I completed a BA in Clinical Counseling Psychology at Washington College in Maryland in 2017 and an MA in Rehabilitation Counseling at Utah State University in 2022. I am a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, specializing in working collaboratively with individuals with disabilities. I have been practicing in mental health since 2021. I am a Clinical Mental Health Counselor in Utah as of December 2023. I offer therapy services through telehealth.
Specialties:
I work with teens and adult individuals. I specialize in anxiety, depression, self-esteem/self-worth, navigating disability, life transitions (young adulthood, relationships, empty nesters, etc.), sexual and gender identity, values, and finding meaning and purpose. I work with individuals with and without disabilities.
I take a collaborative approach to counseling, facilitating a safe space to learn coping skills, come to know and accept yourself, and build confidence in taking on life’s challenges. I provide a non-judgmental, supportive, and compassionate environment for us to work together toward your goals, objectives, and values for your life. I am an LGBTQIA+ affirmative clinician committed to respectful and inclusive care for individuals of all identities and experiences. I enjoy supporting people as they explore and challenge societal norms related to ableism, race, ethnicity, gender, queerness, body image, and other core aspects of life.
I utilize a person-centered therapeutic approach that draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), as well as somatic (body focused) and mindfulness based interventions. You can expect our sessions to involve a combination of meaningful conversations and explorations, educational moments, mindfulness exercises, a dash of humor, and the occasional curse word.
