Specialties:
As a Queer, BIPOC, Utah native with an LDS background, I understand the unique and diverse aspects of our culture. It comes with its own set of challenges, whether related to religion, racial identity, sexuality, emotional expression and vulnerability, or the sense of isolation that can sometimes accompany being part of this community. If you find yourself overwhelmed by emotions, struggling to connect with others, feeling stressed, or just barely hanging on, I am here to help.
I specialize in working with individual youth and adults (age 12+), and I am developing specializations in working with anxiety, depression, trauma, and experiences of intense emotional distress. Additionally, I provide support for people struggling with emotional regulation, and for those caring for individuals with unique behavioral needs and developmental differences. I offer guidance and assistance to LGBTQIA+ individuals and anyone navigating diverse or minoritized identities. This includes support for those exploring faith crises and transitions within the context of their personal beliefs and backgrounds.
In counseling, my goal is to work in collaboration with you and offer an empathetic, light-hearted, safe space to explore your identity and values and work towards your therapeutic goals. I work to help you unpack past trauma, focus on its current impacts, and assist in reshaping your future so you can experience less distress. I take an integrative approach to therapy, tailoring my interventions to meet the needs and unique personalities of those who consult me. I often draw from aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Affect Phobia, and Person-Centered Therapy to assist people on their mental health journey.
I want to understand what it is you are going through and attempt to figure out solutions or lend a listening ear. With my diverse background and identities, I offer you a chance to explore your emotions, vulnerabilities, and discomforts in a lighthearted space. You are unique and special, and so are your challenges. I want to assist you as you express your thoughts and feelings and recognize their impacts on your day-to-day functioning. Let me be a companion on your journey of self-exploration as you delve deeper into who you are and what you want from your life.
