COVID-19 and In-Person Therapy Fall 2024

COVID-19, Highly Communicable Illnesses, and In-Person Therapy Sessions

The safety and wellbeing of all who are in our office spaces if of utomst importance to us. All of our therapists and staff have been vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccinations. COVID-19 latest variants are peaking in Utah in the Fall of 2024. For in-person therapy sessions please review the following information to help maintain the health and safety of all clients and staff in our offices.

In-person sessions attendance agreement

Symptom-Free Requirement: You may only attend in-person sessions if you are free from cold, flu, cough, sore throat, or any other symptoms of highly communicable illness.

Illness Notification: If you are experiencing symptoms, we ask that you switch to a teletherapy session or cancel your in-person appointment. Late cancellation fees will not be charged in the event of illness.

Vaccination and Preventive Measures: We strongly recommend staying up-to-date with COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters to reduce the risk of transmission.

Safety Protocols

Mask Usage: If you have mild symptoms, such as a runny nose or a slight cough, you will need to wear a mask during your session. Masks are available in the waiting room.

Hand Hygiene: Please wash or sanitize your hands upon entering the practice. Hand sanitizer is available in the waiting room.

Mask Request: You may request that both you and your therapist wear masks during your session, this request will always be honored.

Social Distancing: Follow any social distancing measures that may be in effect during your visit.

Health Notifications

Exposure Notification: If a member of our staff tests positive for COVID-19 and was recently present in the office on a day you were also in attendance, you will be notified.

High-Risk Situations: Please notify your therapist if you are at increased health risk due to any underlying health conditions.

Positive Test Notification: Notify your therapist as soon as possible if you or someone in your household tests positive for COVID-19 or another highly communicable illness before your in-person appointment. Also please notify your therapist as soon as possible if you believe you likely have been exposed to COVID-19, but have not been tested.

Public Health Reporting: If you test positive for COVID-19 or another highly communicable illness and have visited the practice shortly before, your provider may be required to report this to public health authorities. If a report is made, only necessary information will be shared, and details of your visit will remain strictly confidential.

Changes to In-Person Sessions: Due to the unpredictable nature of COVID-19 and its variants, the availability of in-person sessions may change with minimal or no notice.

If you have any questions or concerns about this policy, please discuss them with your therapist. Your safety and well-being are our top priority. We love our jobs and we highly value our work with each of you. Thank you for trusting us and our services to you at Progressive Paths Therapy!
