Professional Highlights
I received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. I have also earned a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Wisconsin – Superior. I am currently a PhD Candidate in Marriage and Family Therapy at BYU; my main research area is suicide risk and prevention in transgender communities. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in Utah and have been practicing therapy since 2017.
Specialties
I specialize in working with LGBTQIA+ individuals, couples, and families, and especially trans and gender-diverse youth. As a trans person, there is nothing more meaningful to me than being a resource to other members of my community. It has been a privilege to join so many clients on their journeys of identity exploration and development.
I have worked with clients on their goals related to anxiety, depression, suicidality, self-harm, faith crises/transitions, relationship issues, grief, life transitions, self-esteem, sexual and gender identity, and attachment injuries.
My therapy approach is primarily informed by Narrative Therapy and Attachment-based Family Therapy, and I strive to be social-justice informed in my practice. It is my goal to create an environment of safety and acceptance where clients feel comfortable exploring the challenges, as well as the strengths, in their lives. I enjoy helping clients make progress toward their goals and live according to their values in ways that feel empowering to them.
