Professional Highlights:
I am a Student Therapist in BYU’s Marriage and Family Therapy program, working under Dr. Quintin Hunt. I am on track to graduate in June 2025. I am supervised by Dr. Marty Erickson, LMFT who will oversee my clinical therapy work at Progressive Paths Therapy.
Specialties:
I have experience working with individuals, couples, and families, addressing concerns such as depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, strained parent-child dynamics, trauma, identity exploration, and faith transitions. In my work, I am guided by a belief in the innate goodness and complexity of each person. I help clients explore and embrace their many parts with compassion. Using an intergenerational and trauma-sensitive lens, I strive to understand how family patterns and past experiences influence present struggles. My goal is to help clients heal past wounds, break harmful cycles, and cultivate more fulfilling connections. I believe that connection-to ourselves, our emotions, and the people in our lives-is central to healing and growth.
I draw on a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Attachment-Based Family Therapy (ABFT), Structural Family Therapy, and Satir Experiential Therapy.
Whitney has immediate openings in-person in SLC, and immediate openings for teletherapy for anyone in Utah.
